How to Get Your Glamping On in 5 Ways

My family has always been into camping. ALWAYS. I love it.

But we started doing it a little differently as we hit the “teens”. We got a travel trailer and it was the best thing ever. We still use it to this day and I’m spoiled. Tent camping just isn’t for me anymore. I NEED to wash my hands. Like all the time. It’s a thing that I am seriously concerned about! Anyway, so yes, I love camping, but I love camping in our trailer. Call me high class trailer trash, but it’s so much nicer!

This past weekend we ended up in one of my favorite spots, doing one of my favorite things. Riding quads in the sand. Growing up, every family vacation was centered around one thing: where are the closest dunes to that national park? Now that I’m all adult and boring, I can’t take as long of trips, but we’ve got some dunes nearby that are pretty awesome for a weekend trip! This is how I camp though. Err, glamp? We still do some pretty good camping though! We know how to have fun.

1. Location: Dunes

We don’t always camp in the sand, but we do a lot. I love being out in the desert; in the dunes! It’s usually quite a few hours of a drive, but it makes a getaway feel like a getaway. This weekend, we lucked out and it was nothing but sunshine and blue skies! Perfect to hang around in camp!

2. Activities

These trips are always quad riding trips, but we also have a lot of fun between our rides! We broke out all of the guns and bows and did some target shooting. I got to try out my bow more, since I haven’t got to shot it since we bought it last weekend. And of course, there’s also a ton of snacking and drinking too!

3. Drinks

Bring on the beer! We’re camping, so we’re drinking too! Mimosas in the morning, and beer for lunch and dinner! Such a nice way to relax and completely unwind.

4. Friends

It wouldn’t be camping without meeting up with some friends! We met my family out there and then 6 other groups that I’ve grown up with and have grown up riding quads with too. It’s crazy as we start to get older and have to drive out on our own, and some even have their own kids now!

5. Campfire

It’s not camping without a campfire! And a S’more! I love hanging out by the fire. It’s a weird sense of community you get when you put a bunch of people out by a campfire! But it’s also the perfect way to end a long day of fun in the sun!

What about you guys? Do enjoy camping? Or are you glamping like me? Any of you camp in the sand??

  2. This looks so fun! I’ve never been on a quad – I wanna play! Camping in the sand is so much better than grass camping 🙂 I think I’d probably rather go glamping too though x
