5 Random Thoughts I’ve Had Today #80

My weekly post for some entertainment; for myself and all of you!

1. Freeways are really weird. I mean, we are just trusting each other to stay in our own lanes! And travel at high speeds! I mean, obviously, sometimes that doesn’t work out the best, but for the most part it does! That’s a lot of trust we’re putting in strangers!

2. Do you ever wonder where things come from? Like who came up with mayo (I mean, thank you so much to whoever came up with it!) but where did it come from? And then it just exploded into this universal condiment that a lot of people use! Or like salad? Who decided to chop up a bunch of greens and then mix it with a bunch of other stuff?

3. I really have to learn the difference between eating because I’m actually hungry and eating out of excitement for snacks. I always pack snacks for work in case I get hungry and then I’m usually so excited that I have snacks that I eat them first thing in the morning and I’m not even hungry. Totally not productive.

4. Was Valentine’s Day a total love fest on your social media feed yesterday too?? I mean, yes, I totally partook (is partook a word?) and am guilty to contributing! Because it’s kind of like “enough already”, but at the same time “I gotta show my love off too!”

5. I know I always come back to this…but nail polish. Hate to love it and love to hate it! Am I right? Its so nice for the first day, but then at the first sight of water, or anything really, it practically starts curling up! Ugh. I will never be on top of it.

  2. I love when you do these posts, they’re always so funny yet so relate-able/true. I always always think about where things come from….I think I question that at least once a day like who was the very first person to ever cut open a piece of an aloe plant and use the jelly serum inside and rub it on their skin….it could easily have had a poison ivy effect (obviously doesn’t) but either way, so weird.

  3. I’ve also thought about two of these in the past week! Mayo is so weird! I was talking to my daughter about it the other day. And with the high speeds of driving and strangers right there doing it with who knows what ability…crazy!

  4. Omg, yes on the Valentine’s Day social media thing!! I’m single, but I’m not jaded about it and I don’t feel left out or bothered by lovey-dovey posts. I don’t mind a little bit of love from my friends in relationships every now and then. But yesterday was like wow, ok. I’m done. Literally my ENTIRE feed on IG was Valentines Day related somehow, even if it was a food blogger. I was telling my sister last night that I was so glad it was over. This was my first Valentines Day since joining social media, so I had no idea what to expect. I was expecting it to be like the other holidays. But not even Christmas or New Years came close to the takeover that Valentines Day did. Boy, it was crazy. I’m glad it wasn’t just me, and that even people in relationships got sick of it. Makes me feel a bit better.

    Also, I do get so curious about how things were invented…and now you have me wondering about mayo and salads. 😂
