How to Shop and Give Back in 5 Ways

Y’all know how much I like to shop. Online. I love to shop online. It’s one of my favorite activities/hobbies (until the money runs dry that is). But there is something better feeling than typing in my credit card number….it’s finding those shops that take your purchase and give back to something else or another cause.

One of my best friends told me that her New Year’s Resolution this year was to make more socially aware purchases. Like, purchases that give back. She’s brilliant. It’s a great way to shop [less] guilt free and give back to your community at the same time with every click! I realized that I’ve actually been doing this for a bit with some of my regular purchases, but I’ve also been finding new companies that support the community!

Some of these companies are big, and some are small, but I love shopping through them because I can get some super cute stuff and it always seems to be more original than just heading over to the mall! These are some of my favorites right now!

1. Love Your Melon

This company is pretty popular. I love love love their beanies! They’re so comfy, warm, and they make the most perfect slouchy beanie! They release new ones every week, but you really have to jump on them because they sell out quick! Love Your Melon gives a hat to children battling cancer in America and supports the fight against pediatric cancer by donating 50% of the profit of each sale. How amazing is that?!

2. WeWool Socks

These socks are amazing. They’ve got them made out of wool or alpaca and they are soooo warm and cozy! The perfect winter sock! I haven’t made a trip to the snow without them this winter! They donate a pair of socks with every pair of socks purchased!

3. The Created Co.

I could probably buy everything off their website! They have a TON of cute mugs!! I love them all. They’ve partnered with charity: water, which is a non profit organization that brings clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries. They donate 10% of profits to help build wells that bring clean water to those in need. So check out some of their stuff!

4. The Shop Forward

You probably know these products as the Pimpin’ Joy products. If any of you listen to the Bobby Bones Show on the radio, then you’ll know exactly what this is! But those of you that don’t, Bobby Bones has a radio show and they have a segment called “Pimpin’ Joy” when they just talk about people doing nice things for others. They now have a whole Pimpin’ Joy line of mugs, hats, apparel. They donate to a ton of causes!

5. BootayBag 

 

 

 

This one I just signed up for and I’m pretty excited to see how it goes! It’s $12 a month and they send you 2 panties each month. You can skip or cancel whenever you want, and you have the option to choose the style. Once you receive your Bootaybag, you snap a selfie with your bag and they’ll donate $1 to the Melanoma Foundation. It’s that simple. I can’t wait to get my bag! (Stay tuned for that selfie).
